Well organized with lots of wonderful animals, often in natural habitats with great transitions between each section. Be prepared for lots of walking.
There are also plenty of little things to entertain kids in between, including the petting zoo and playground, not to mention a great shaded area for those extra hot days.
Volunteers are always ready to help and answer questions and give explanations.
The addition of gorillas to the zoo in 2015 has been a huge hit as the exhibit is outstanding. The Zoo Lights is fun too.
Houston zoo has plenty for everyone.
Cost for adults is about $20. Free entry for younger children. They also give Military discounts, and if you have a Bank of America card, Tuesdays are free for you.
